Created as my final project for Photography I in 2004, this series of 10″ x 14″ silver gelatin emulsion images explores gender and identity issues by applying the stereotype of a thirteen year old girl layered over an 18 year old male. The series was also a cathartic experience because when I was 13 I had long hair and had not yet gone through puberty, leading people to believe I was a girl.
